The Council’s mission is to provide educational and collaborative opportunities to help professional fundraisers and donor advisors create meaningful charitable giving experiences for donors.

The Council’s vision is to unite the gift planning community in best serving the charitable planning needs of donors and clients by creating meaningful charitable giving experiences for their organizations, members, and clients.

Founded in 1998, the Council is one of more than 100 local councils of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, formerly the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, which includes more than 10,000 members nationwide.

Our members include include professional fundraisers and executive directors who represent educational, healthcare, arts & culture, human services & welfare charitable institutions as well as certified public accountants, estate attorneys, financial planners, insurance professionals, trust advisors and wealth advisors.

Our nonprofit members' knowledge of and experience with planned giving ranges from beginner to expert. The common factor is a desire for continuous learning in order to benefit the organizations they represent.

The Council is committed to presenting excellent programs featuring engaging industry experts speaking on a broad range of topics to help members and visitors enhance their understanding and practice of gift planning. Each year, the Council's educational programs include luncheons as well as other learning formats.

The Planned Giving Council of San Antonio, in fulfillment of its mission to promote donor philanthropy through gifts in one’s estate, offers a free community resource in Bexar and surrounding counties. We will make professional and knowledgeable speakers available to your civic, legal, financial and other non-profit organizations to promote the concept of planned giving.
